MEET OUR LABRADORS
Our appreciation of Labrador Retrievers developed through having beautiful-natured Labradors as part of our family unit. Our Labradors have brought joy and companionship to us and have been great levellers during our lives, mainly while we worked as frontline healthcare workers for years.
We are a small family who all live under the same roof. Our female chocolate Labradors are MAKARA and ADRI. Before them, we had TREBLE, our beloved Yellow Labrador, and WREXI, our Black Labrador. Sadly, TREBLE and WREXI have passed away.TREBLE lived to 13 and a half years old, and WREXI made it to 15 and a half years despite having a Mast Cell Tumour removed at an early age and being given only six months to live. The latest addition to our Labrador family is ARI, the son of ADRI and CADDY. He was born in early February 2024, ADRI's first litter. We are excited to work with him to develop his manners and eagerly anticipate watching his personality unfold. Stay tuned for updates! MAKARA
Her name in Sanskrit means HALF LAND and HALF WATER CREATURE, which is typical behaviour for a Labrador.
Sadly, she was diagnosed early in her life with a bilateral hock issue called Osteochondritis Dissecans, so with great disappointment, Makara was withdrawn from breeding and instead became the Matron, overseeing all that goes on at Monnybrook Labradors.
ADRI - (NUGGY)
MANARK BROWN VELVET ADRI is also called NUGGY, our cuddly little chocolate nugget.
Luckily, she has good hip and elbow clearances and a sound genetic profile that is clear of common Labrador diseases.
Nuggy has a sweet temperament and is a delight to be around. She lovingly checks in on everybody, including her feathered family friends.
She adores water and is often beside me in the surf, showing off her strong swimming and lifesaving abilities; she also enjoys retrieving objects and sniffing out treats.
ARI
In Hindu, ARI means "BRAVE LION," which we believe resembles the leader of a Pride.
We chose the pedigree name MIGHTY REIGN with our prefix because we look forward to many years with ARI leading his Monnybrook Pride, including us, towards joyful new adventures.
He is developing a cheeky side to his sweet temperament, which he shows each night as he lies at our feet. He also looks so cute when lying on his back with his legs in the air.
